October 25th, 2017, Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles was jammed packed on a Wednesday night. The Dodgers, fresh off a 3-1 victory the night before, had the hometown crowd buzzing with anticipation as they eagerly waited for the night’s first pitch. But before that, there was a brief award ceremony scheduled to honor baseball’s past and present. At the press conference before the game, the legendary Hank Aaron addressed one of the winners. “It doesn’t make any difference whether you’re five feet tall or six feet tall, as long as you’ve got the warmth and the know-how and the drive to do it, and you have demonstrated that. But I want to congratulate you for all of the things that you have done, really. You have been wonderful, and not many people I would pay to go see, but I tell you, I would pay to go see him”, said the iconic Hall of Famer, who smiled warmly before turning to José Altuve seated beside him. The Houston Astros’ second baseman, dressed in uniform, beamed a grin of his own in return and replied, “I’m more nervous now than I was yesterday while I was playing. I don’t know why. But I feel blessed to be here. I thank God for the opportunity to be sitting here with Giancarlo with the Commissioner and Mr. Hank. What can I say?
