Snarky Answers to Stupid Questions: [More Common Sense Atheism]

Book Synopsis: For many years now, I have engaged in dialogues with theists of all stripes, both in person and in online forums. Although many of these dialogues are polite and even insightful, all too often they are the result of some theist asking what they apparently think is some sort of clever “gotcha” question aimed at atheists that will surely accomplish something, whether it be to actually convince atheists of the error of their ways or perhaps just expose atheists to ridicule and therefore make the theist feel better about his or her own irrational beliefs.

My previous book, Common Sense Atheism, grew out of these dialogues, as I took my answers to specific questions, tried to make them more general, and turned them into full-blown essays. And if you are looking for good general answers to many of the issues often discussed regarding theism and atheism, I heartily recommend reading that book. I tried to make it entertaining, but at its core it is meant to be informative.

This book, however, is really meant to be more entertaining than anything else as I share just what sorts of mind-bogglingly stupid questions I have had to deal with over the years and the often tongue-in-cheek answers I have provided. And when the same stupid question gets asked over and over again, I try to come up a new way to answer it each time.

The questions are real (bad spelling and grammar and all), only the names of the people asking them have been changed to protect the guilty parties (and prevent any of them from suing me, of course).

Oh, and please understand that I am not claiming that all (or even most) questions that theists ask of atheists are stupid or that all (or even most) theists are stupid and ask these sorts of questions.
