The Adventures of Journey the Tiny House - Arizona

Book Synopsis: Written by a real life Outdoor Educator and Park Interpretive Specialist, "Adventures of Journey the Tiny House - Arizona" is about a motley crew of characters who explore and learn about the natural world. Journey the Tiny House, a girl named Hannah and Hannah's weenie dog, Banjo, road trip together to Arizona. There, Journey asks questions, like "How long does a Joshua Tree live?" and "How tall does the Saguaro cactus grow?". Journey learns about Arizona's flora and fauna as well as the geography and the natural history of the land. At the Grand Canyon, Journey learns about the Native peoples and how they are still present today, and how the Grand Canyon was formed. Journey also visits other National Parks that are popular in the state- like Saguaro National Park and the Petrified Forest National Park. After learning about how petrified wood is created, the traveling companions reflect on how blessed they are to have each other, how they must be gentle to the Earth, and how "Adventure is a gift in which we all receive, if in our lives we choose to allow ourselves to weave." Each book also has a "seek and find" activity in the back, that asks the reader to flip back through the illustrations to identify things like constellations and flowers, therefore adding another layer of outdoor education.
