Description
Book Synopsis: This book aims to stimulate the use of the Physion simulator in high school physics teaching, but the proposed activities can be adapted to elementary and higher education. The modeling of physical phenomena fit very well today, considering that the current generations of children and young people have instant access to knowledge, through Internet access using smartphones, tablets and computers, expanding the search for information beyond school boundaries. Although there are several simulations software, based on a model of a physical phenomenon until games that explore certain school contents, we can mention PhET, Interactive Physics, Modellus, among others, there is still a lack of programs that allow the user to have the freedom to create their own constructions. Physion, compared to the simulators mentioned above, has the advantage of having an easy-to-use platform, the ability for the user to create their own models, including experiments and the execution of proposed exercises, and is a free program. This book is composed of five chapters: the first one discusses the use of Digital Information and Communication Technologies in the school environment, the second one deals with the use of computer modeling in physics teaching, the third one deals with the interaction between active methodologies and computer simulations, the fourth describes the basic commands of Physion and the fifth proposes ten scripts of physical phenomena of mechanics, which include the Objective and Procedures that guide the user (student) in conducting the activities. Illustrations were placed in the Procedures so that the user can follow the progress of the elaboration of the graphic construction of the simulations, exercises were also inserted in which they could be calculated and compared with the execution of the software. The ten simulations proposed through scripts are: 1. Uniform Rectilinear Motion (MRU). 2. Freefall and Vertical Release. 3. Conservation of Energy and Linear Moment. 4. One Dimensional Collisions. 5. Simple Pendulum Oscillation. 6. Simple Harmonic Movement - Conservation of Mechanical Energy. 7. Inclined Plane. 8. Oblique Release. 9. Uniform Circular Movement - Coupling of pulleys with same axis. 10. System of two fixed pulleys (Newton's 2nd Law). The teacher will be able to use the proposed simulations in their entirety or modify them according to the class level. He can also change the order, for example, starting from script 10 and going to script 9.
