Will Love Prevail

Book Synopsis: Love sometimes happens when no one expects it. It strikes out of nowhere; sudden, intense, and incomprehensible. It can happen between two very different people from very different backgrounds. Mark is an Army veteran who has been seriously wounded during a deployment in Afghanistan. The life altering spinal cord injury has left him paralyzed and in a wheelchair. Life for Mark is bleak and slow. In addition to the injury he sustained, he also suffers from a loss of purpose in life. As he drifts along, love is not something he is looking for or even expecting. Insecurity about his identity as a paraplegic young man keeps him from pursuing romantic partners or a relationship.

Mark is celebrating his 30th birthday with his friends at a bar when he encounters Chiara for the first time. Chiara appears out of nowhere, unexpected, sudden, and Mark can’t comprehend why she is hitting on him. She is persistent, and with her assertive flirtation, Mark lets down his guard and is open to possibly having some fun with the mysterious, beautiful young woman. Things escalate as Mark realizes why Chiara is interested in him. From a few moments of passionate connection, enjoying gentle touches, and gazing into eyes filled with desire and sadness, develops a strong pull that is intensified when Mark learns about Chiara’s situation. Suddenly he becomes the source of this woman’s misery when she disappears just as quickly as she appeared.

Mark is left with lots of questions and guilt. He can’t forget Chiara and is determined to find her and make things right. A sense of purpose reignites Mark’s warrior spirit and leads him on a mission, not of combat but a mission of the heart. Little does he know how intense he has touched Chiara in ways she hasn’t experienced since she was a girl. As Mark enters her life, extraordinary desires are awakened, and secrets are revealed. Chiara isn’t like any woman Mark has ever known, and to have her in his life, he is willing to risk everything to set Chiara free from a life of violence and exploitation. As Mark’s mission continues, he puts himself and Chiara in life-threatening danger.
